Menu Monday!

Last week was such a mess, I was away most of the week and when I did get home we had no groceries and I had too much laundry to do to care about what we were eating. So I had no menu for last week and I hardly spent any time in the kitchen. Do you ever have one of those weeks where nothing seems to come together? I decided I was not going to stress about it at all. Nope, no cares at all! One night we had KD for supper! GASP! Kraft dinner?????  How could she?!

Now there is nothing wrong with KD, don't get me wrong. I love the stuff. Just when it comes to what's for dinner, it is just never something I would think of making for my kiddos. I would make home made mac & cheese but never KD. It was kind of nice, I'm not going to lie. It was nice not having to put much effort into making a big supper, or spending a lot of time in front of the stove as well. However; it turns out my boys were not impressed, neither of them ate supper. I thought this was so weird, they love it when I make it for lunch. What's the difference?

Soo with that being said, I'm happy to have my routine put back on track. This week is pretty basic, we are having some of our staple meals. We love PW's Beef Stew. We usually eat it at least once a month in the winter.
Crunchy Honey Chicken is one of my favourite meals. It's sweet and savory and I can load it with veggies and my boys usually will eat all of them. I found it a few years ago on this blog. P.s. I love her she is so quirky and fun. And, she is so pretty and tiny and she bakes so much I don't know how she stays so little!

A few good staples is always nice to fall back on when you just want to get back into routine.
What are you eating this week? Anything good I should try?

  1. I've totally had those weeks. It's always nice to get back on track. I'm making one of our favorites tonight, ham & potato soup. Got the recipe here http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/56927/recipedelicious-ham-and-potato-soup

    1. that soup looks really good and I'm always looking for a new ham recipe because we always seem to have leftover ham and the boys really love it. Thanks!
