Menu Monday

This week has been very heavily inspired by pinterest! Well let's be honest most weeks are inspired by pinterest. What would we do without that website?
The Orange Beef with rice was inspired by the ladies from Our Best Bites. Have you guys ever been to their website? It's really good! These two women come up with some great recipes. Their recipe for Orange Beef was really good! All of my family gobbled it up. It is heavy in the meat department so I decided to lighten it up by adding a head of broccoli and some red peppers. The best part about this recipe is how quick and easy it was to prepare. I must confess, I had my husband do the hardwork. He had to slice the flank steak ultra thin and he had to slice the peppers for me. But all in all it only took us a 1/2 an hour to get supper on the table.

Did you guys ever eat something so much during your university/college days that it's pretty much ruined for you now? I did that with a few things but one of the main things was those little pasta packets that come in all different flavours. I especially loved the Home style cheddar and the Garlic and Herbs flavours.  I ate those darn packets on a weekly basis. But now, I have tried them and they just taste so bland. They are not even worth the calories. So I was really happy when I found  this recipe for Creamy Garlic Shells on pinterest. This blogger is the same girl who showed me how to make from scratch Hamburger Helper. I'm excited to try this recipe and see if it stands up to my now evolved taste buds.

I'm also really excited to try this Crockpot cheese tortellini recipe. I love a good Crockpot recipe.

The Crockpot Pot roast is a staple in our house. It's a great way to get a great comfort food on the table in no time. I feel like I should have been slaving over the oven for hours but in reality I just threw everything into the pot and left. I can't remember if I ever shared with you this recipe. If not here it is.

In a quest to get more veggies into my little Levi I'm making baked ziti on Thursday. I simply use my tomato sauce and shred in some zucchini.  He won't even know he is eating vegetables. My mom and my sister are coming that night as well so this is a great meal because it feeds an army.

What are you having this week? Anything I should try?

  1. Hi! Thank you for stopping by my blog! The crock pot pot roast sounds great! I love pot roast in the crock pot but have never tried it with wine, and definitely will next time I make it. Sometimes we plan ahead with meals and sometimes we don't. This week I didn't plan ahead, but tonight I am trying something different I just came up with....3 boneless skinless chicken breasts in the crock pot (love my crock pot!), topped with a can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom with Roasted Garlic, French Onion, and Golden Mushroom soups. Mixed in 1/2 tsp of black pepper and 1 tbsp parsley flakes. Will serve over brown rice with a veggie side (whatever I grab from the freezer). If it ends up tasting good I will post the recipe on my blog. Now following you via GFC :)
